Act Analysis to Short Stories

The
research was about speech act analysis to short stories. In this study analyze
speech acts in three short story, they are Acme' by Colin Galsworthy
(1867-1933), 'Post Haste' by Colin Howard, and “The Happy Prince" by Oscar
Wild. the research analyzes direct
and indirect speech act in those stories. Although most of the
utterances in the three stories under analysis are of direct speech act type,
yet, there is an instance of indirect speech act in the first and second text,
whereas the third text lacks any indirect speech act.
